Software Engineer - FAE

 

On long term, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining of links between our mixed-signal simulator SMASH and 3rd party tools under Windows, Solaris and Linux. You should overtake some tasks of a field application engineer which identify needs in typical applications of our customers, mainly in the MEMS and/or automotive industry. You will implement and document the links and promote its usage through application notes.

Engaged beginners are welcome. Introduction and training in France possible, duration depends on pre-knowledge. First experience in C/C++ development including multi-platform experience and/or GUI development favorable. Some knowledge of microelectronic applications required.
Fluent English is mandatory.
You have communication and reporting abilities to ensure remote relationship with the team in France

 

Request of the position

  • Software Engineer with a focus to field application engineering
  • Some knowledge of the micro electronic applications
  • Some project experience in C/C++ and Multi-platform favorable.
  • First multi-platform GUI development (Qt or wxWidgets) and Software design with UML desirable
  • Knowledge of Windows and Unix
  • Ability for programming with a rigorous method
  • Ability to work remotely with the Medal team in France
  • Autonomy
  • Ability to communicate, draft some reports weekly
  • Fluent in English

 

Roles

  • On long term responsible for developing and maintaining a Schematic Editor solution with innovative hierarchical link editing
  • Implement the coupling of SMASH with the Schematic Editor
  • Implement the visualization of detector messages

 

Criteria of success (during the probation period)

  • Set up the development environment and compile SMASH with COSMOS and SLED successfully
  • Identify the needs in tool links for typical applications of EMC simulation
  • Create a flow chart to interface SimLab’s SLSim, ZUKEN’s Cabling designer…
  • Draft an Application note on EMC for automotive applications
  • Identify the needs in tool links for typical MEMS applications simulation
  • Create a flow chart to interface ANSYS with MATLAB and SMASH
  • Draft an Application note on COSMOS for MEMS
  • Self organization and provide visibility on his work: Creation in time of orange book projects for his developments, weekly report

 

Employement contract : Long-term contract
Location : Duisburg - Germany
Starting date: as soon as possible
Salary : Depending on experience
