How do we simulate a Gyroscope with EMBLEM-Mecha? |
|
A Gyroscope is a complex MEMS. The model combines 5 different basic
effects (attraction, capacity, banding/torque, inertia and Coriolis
effects). The effects are modeled in VHDL-AMS.
EMBLEM-Mecha comes with symbols for a schematic editor to each model,
so that the designer is able to model beside the electronics even
the mechanical part visually.

A VHDL-AMS netlist is created to describe the behavior of the mechanical
part of the MEMS. The language VHDL-AMS makes it easy to integrate
this part in the electrical circuit to provide a system simulation.

Then, the netlist is simulated with SMASH. An accurate result is obtained
in a few minutes.

The sensor can also be simulated with this system.
