Cactus Semiconductor chooses Dolphin Integration's Library for their low power, portable medical applications
Chandler, Arizona and Grenoble, France - April 18, 2014
Cactus Semiconductor and Dolphin Integration are proud to announce their partnership for the optimization of Cactus Semiconductor’s portable and medical applications thanks to the low power Dolphin Integration's standard cell library.
Relying on 30 years of experience, the standard cell library SESAME eLC subsumes the know-how of Dolphin Integration and offers extra low power performances and dual voltage capability down to 0.8 V:
- The optimized standard cells for ultra-low-power enable to reduce the power consumption by up to 5 and the leakage by up to 2.
- Dual voltage capability down to 0.8 V allows Cactus Semiconductor to reach the power consumption target of medical and portable applications.
"Dolphin Integration clearly and quickly understood our specific needs within the medical device market, to customize their existing low power digital library at 180 nm for us to deliver 0.8V operation" said James McDonald, CEO of Cactus Semiconductor. "Thanks to the unique architecture of SESAME eLC-DV and Dolphin Integration's low power expertise, we in turn can offer our customers an ultra-low power mixed signal IC solution for use in their medical and portable applications. Dolphin Integration's library was easily integrated into our infrastructure and design flow and that's always helpful to expedite the design process."
"We are eager to announce this first successful collaboration with Cactus Semiconductor and to partake in the success of their ultra low power product in the portable and medical sector", commented Nelly ALBERTINI, Library marketing manager at Dolphin Integration." This new partnership highlights Dolphin Integration's low-power expertise and the quality of their support."
About Cactus Semiconductor
Cactus Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company producing low-power mixed signal application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). Founded in 2002, the company has brought to market numerous system level analog and mixed signal ASICs for low power battery operated electronics. These solutions include medical integrated circuits (IC) – or medical ASICs - including ASICs for implantable medical devices. Additionally they include ICs for portable applications and power management devices where small size and low power are critical components. Cactus Semiconductor is ISO 9001:2008 qualified. The company maintains its headquarters in Chandler, AZ. More information can be found at cactussemiconductor.com.
About Dolphin Integration
Dolphin Integration contribute to "enabling mixed signal Systems-on-Chip". Their focus is to supply worldwide customers with fault-free, high-yield and reliable kits of CMOS Virtual Components of Silicon IP, based on innovative libraries of standard cells, flexible registers and low-power memories. They provide high-resolution converters for audio and measurement, regulators for efficient power supply networks, application optimized micro-controllers. They put emphasis on resilience to noise and drastic reductions of power-consumption at system level, thanks to their own EDA solutions missing on the market for Application Hardware Modeling as well as early Power and Noise assessment. In addition strong experiences in ASIC/SoC design and fabrication, plus privileged foundry portal even for small or medium volumes, make them a genuine one-stop shop covering all customers’ needs for specific requests.
